Strong winds that blew across Matara and Galle today (Nov 25 2011) morning caused severe damage to shops and houses. The gusts of wind also toppled trees bringing transport to a standstill.Several individuals were hospitalized due to a strong blowing that caused severe damage to shops and houses in the town earlier in the morning. It is reported that it is likely to continue through out the day. So be alert if you are planning to travel in those areas.
