What not to miss at the Royal wedding - the 7 key moments
The royal wedding morning will be long. From the moment the first guests arrive at 8:15 a.m. London-time to when the couple appear on the balcony at 1:30 p.m. will be about five hours.
Follow this guide and you will always be able to say, "Of course I saw the moment when ..."
1. The Dress: 11 a.m. in London (6 a.m. ET)
We will see the dress through the windows of the Rolls Royce as Kate is driven to the church. But our first PROPER look at the dress will be at 11 a.m. London (6 a.m. Eastern) when she gets out of the car at the Abbey. This is the time to ooh and ahh on the design. Whether it is akin to the puffed up style of Diana's or, as some suggest, sleek and satiny like Princess Margaret's, this is THE moment. Don't miss it!!!
2. The Vows: 11:15 in London (6:15 a.m. ET)
It may be cruel, but many will be watching to see if there are any mistakes! Diana got Charles's name wrong (and seemed to marry his father instead). Charles for his part forgot to endow Diana with his worldly goods. Never mind. She got a lot of them anyway in the divorce! Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson repeated Prince Andrew's middle name twice.
Will tradition strike again or can William and Kate get each other's name right? Don't be feeding the cat at that moment.
3. The FIRST kiss: Any time after 11:15 a.m. in London (6:15 a.m. onwards ET)
It should be after the Archbishop of Canterbury pronounces them man and wife. But Charles forgot to kiss Diana -- we had to wait until the balcony for that moment. Let's see if William and Kate remember.
4. The Fanfare: About 11:30 a.m. in London (6:30 a.m. ET)
Keep an ear out after the register is signed for a trumpet fanfare composed especially for this occasion. It will be performed by the Royal Air Force Trumpeters and is called "Valiant and Brave," the motto of Prince William's RAF squadron. Thirty seconds of ear-blasting trumpets that could well wake some of the 300 dead and buried in the Abbey.
5. Placing the bouquet: After 11:45 a.m. in London (6:45 a.m. ET)
It is fully expected that Catherine will follow royal tradition and lay her wedding bouquet on the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey's nave. This tradition was started by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in 1923 and has been followed by all royal brides at the Abbey ever since. It will be a poignant moment. Royal London wedding map: Parade route, palaces and panoramic views
6. The Carriages: 12:15 p.m. in London (7:15 a.m. ET)
Which coach will take the happy couple back to Buckingham Palace? If it is dry then they will use the 1902 State Landau BUT if it is "severely wet weather" then they will use the 1881 Glass Coach. Since rain showers are forecast, we won't know until the morning just how much rain has to fall to be "severely wet" and force a carriage challenge.
7. THE kiss: 1:25 p.m. in London (8:25 a.m. ET)
Even if you have slept through the ceremony and missed the procession, you still have time to catch THE moment. Catherine and William and their families will be on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at 1:25 p.m. in London (8:25 a.m. ET). A kiss is expected -- in fact it will be demanded by the million or so people expected on the streets outside.
Charles and Diana started the tradition. Sarah and Andrew followed it. Now it's William and Catherine's turn. Will it be a peck on the cheek or a smackeroo on the lips? Miss this and you have missed the lot.
Royal Weddings like this come around every, oh !, three decades. Don't miss out!

Beware of the ongoing phone scam asians ! - Protect your Laptop/Desktop PC...
The National Centre for Cyber Security, Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (SLCERT) urged the public to be on the alert of a phone scam which has been spreading throughout several Asian countries.
SLCERT Senior Information Security Engineer Rohana Palliyaguru told Daily Mirror Online that the scammers, in the guise of agents representing well-known brand names or a third party contracted by such companies have called up consumers and made them believe that their computers are prone to certain vulnerabilities.
“The consumers had been told that they are investigating vulnerabilities - an infection or a virus and have directed the users into a website which allows the scammers to have remote control over the PC or the laptop,” he explained. Thereafter the consumers are had been convinced into making a payment which the racketeers had said would enable them to fix the computer.
“A large number of people who fell for this scam have lost a lot of money. Therefore we urge the public to be vigilant of similar fraudulent schemes and inform SLCERT if they come across such incidents,” Mr. Palliyaguru added.

Fighting continues in Libya's Misurata - Latest Update on Libya Uprise
Freedom Figters say humanitarian deliveries affected in besieged city as battles rage for control of port rage on
Pro-democracy fighters are battling Muammar Gaddafi's, alias butcher of Libya's, forces on the country's western border while fighting continues in the besieged opposition held city of Misurata.
A spokesman for freedom figters told on Wednesday that heavy shelling had prevented ships from docking in Misurata to deliver humanitarian supplies and evacuate the wounded.
"The attacks have prevented a number of ships seeking to enter the port to evacuate the wounded from Misurata," Ahmed Hassan, the spokesman said.
"Other ships are also waiting to unload shipments from humanitarian agencies."
The freedom fighters said the Libyan army had withdrawn from central Misurata but that fierce fighting was still ongoing for control of the city's port.
"Gaddafi's forces retreated from the port area where they were positioned yesterday after air strikes by the NATO forces," an opposition spokesman, called Reda told the Reuters news agency.
The strikes completely destroyed 37 military vehicles. Gaddafi's forces this morning started bombarding an area about 10km north of the city. It is known as the Steel area.
"The bombardment is still going on. They are using Grad missiles ... Warplanes are flying over Misurata's outskirts but I don't hear any sound of strikes."
UN fails to agree on Syria protests crackdown - Security Council members remain divided on US-backed statement condemning violence against protesters
The UN Security Council has failed to agree on a statement condemning Syria's deadly crackdown on peaceful protesters. Envoys attending a special open meeting on Syria in New York on Wednesday said Russia, China and Lebanon opposed the wording of a draft resolution distributed by European nations. France called for "strong measures" if Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian president, rejects appeals to end violence which has killed hundreds. The US said Assad must "change course now and heed the calls of his own people" for change.
Chennai Super Kings wins against Pune Warriors in the form of Badrinath !
In the other match, Chennai Super Kings won against Pune Warriors by 8 wickets. Badrinath of CSK was the star of the day with 63. (Match Summary; Pune Warriors 141 for 6 (Yuvraj 62*, Uthappa 31, Ryder 19, Bollinger 3-21) Chennai Super Kings 145 for 2 (Badrinath 63*, Raina 34*, Vijay 31, Karthik 1-27, Ryder 1-21 ) ) . Score Card is their at the end of the article.
Who said there is no room for a purist in the IPL? S Badrinath (Photo on right) walked into a tricky situation, took ownership of the chase of 142 without playing a single ugly shot, and finessed Chennai Super Kings to No. 2 in the IPL table. His effort came after Chennai's seamers made exemplary use of the extra bounce on the DY Patil strip to restrict Pune Warriors to an under-par score, despite a well-paced 62 from Yuvraj Singh.
Badrinath's virtuoso effort made the total seem woefully inadequate though Chennai dawdled listlessly until he came in. Badrinath isn't your typical IPL hero. His upright stance, clean feet movement, classical backlift and high-elbow follow-through are all made for Test cricket. Yet, he has managed to find a niche for himself in Chennai's muscular top order. Today he unfurled an IPL innings of rare beauty: there were no cross-batted slogs, no cheeky lap-scoops to deliveries landed outside off, and not once was he caught napping on the front foot to a short ball.

Deccan Chargers Wrecks Kochi Tuskers in a pace friendly wicket
Deccan Chargers 129 for 7 ( Sanga 65, Vinay 3-27 ) beat Kochi Tuskers 74 ( Ishant 5-12, Steyn 3-16 ) by 55 runs. (Full Scorecard is their at the end of the article)
If you needed a punctuation mark to describe this game, you'd choose a big, bold exclamation mark and colour it a deep crimson red. Kochi Tuskers Kerala's scorecard was stunningly woeful at the end of four sensational overs: 0, 4, 0, 0, 0, 0 were the scores of the batsmen sucker-punched by Ishant Sharma (Photo on Left), who harassed them with seam and bounce. And Kochi never recovered from that soul-crushing spell.
His hair bobbed up and down in characteristic fashion as Ishant ran in, fingers behind the seam and wrists snapping at the release, and the length was nearly always full. The first has been an ever-present theme with him in good and bad times, the second image hasn't always been consistently repeated, and the third was a pleasant surprise.

Law scholar chosen to assume political powers currently held by the Dalai Lama
Tibetan exiles from around the world have chosen a Harvard law scholar as prime minister of their government-in-exile , officials have said.
"The Election Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama has declared Dr
Lobsang Sangay as the third kalon tripa," Chief Election Commissioner Jampal Thosang told a news conference on Wednesday, using the Tibetan title for prime minister.
The Dalai Lama, Tibet's spiritual leader announced last month that he would retire as the Tibetan movement's political leader, transferring his powers to the newly-elected prime minister.
Sangay easily beat the two other candidates for the prime minister's post, securing 55 per cent of the vote, Thosang said.
The election may prove a landmark in replacing a religious monarchy with a more radical leader claiming democratic legitimacy to speak for Tibetans, dealing a symbolic blow to China's claims to rule the region.
The 42-year old Sangay has said he fully supports the Dalai Lama's "middle way" formula that seeks "meaningful autonomy" for Tibet under Chinese rule, rather than outright independence.

International pressure on Syrian Leader Assad to end violence
As the Syrian government intensifies its crackdown against pro-democracy protesters, the international community steps up its pressure on president Bashar al-Assad ( Photo on Left ) to stop the bloodletting.
In a session on Tuesday, members of the UN Security Council discussed the uptick in violence, but failed to issue a collective statement.
Still, Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary-general, condemned the violence against "peaceful protesters" and called on the Syrian government to respect the people's rights to freedom of expression. "I condemn, utterly, the continuing violence against peaceful demonstrators, most particularly the use of tanks and live fire that have killed and injured hundreds of people," Ban said.
"It goes without saying that Syrian authorities have an obligation to protect civilians and respect international human rights. That includes the right to free expression and peaceful assembly."
Susan Rice, the US ambassador to the United Nations, has also criticised the Syrian government for what she called the "abhorrent use of violence to quell protests."
"Anti Democratic Assad is disingenuously blaming outsiders—at the same time seeking Iranian assistance to repress citizens," she said.

International Investigation ONLY if majority of member states agree - says UN Chief Ban Ki-moon
UN Chief Ban Ki-moon says he will only launch an international investigation into allegations of possible war crimes taking place at the final stages of the war in Sri Lanka that ended in May, 2009, if the member states agree.
After releasing the Expert Panel report on Sri Lanka a UN statement said “the secretary-general has been advised that this (international investigation) will require host country consent or a decision from Member States through an appropriate intergovernmental forum. The monitoring and repository functions it was suggested this mechanism undertake will continue to be performed by the United Nations Secretariat.”
However the Ban’s statement didn't mention a forum but it could include the U.N. Security Council, General Assembly or Human Rights Council.
The panel's report called for an investigation of the Sri Lankan government and Tamil Tiger rebels, as it stated that tens of thousands of the final 2009 offensive against Tamil separatists may have resulted from war crimes.
The UN Chief also said that there would be an inquiry into United Nations' actions during the last stage of the war.
“The Secretary-General has decided that he will respond positively to the Panel’s recommendation for a review of the United Nations actions regarding the implementation of its humanitarian and protection mandates during the war in Sri Lanka — particularly in the last stages. The exact modality of such a review will be determined after consultations with relevant agencies, funds and programmes,” the statement added.
The 200-page report of a three-member panel, that made public, “found credible allegations” of violations of international humanitarian and human rights laws by both sides. The report also said UN “political organs and bodies failed to take actions that might have protected civilians,” including public use of casualty figures.
The report cited evidence that a “wide range of serious violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law was committed both by the government of Sri Lanka and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, some of which would amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.”

Bangalore win in seesaw chase - Lower order scraped 22 runs from 15 deliveries to steer their side to victory
Royal Challengers Bangalore 161 for 7 (Kohli 56, M Morkel 3-25) beat Delhi Daredevils 160 for 6 (Hopes 54, Mithun 2-37) by three wickets
The Royal Challengers Bangalore lower order scraped 22 runs from 15 deliveries to steer their side past Delhi Daredevils' 160 - a target that had looked small when Virat Kohli (Photo ; Virat 56 of 38 ball) was at the crease, and stiff after his dismissal. But Daniel Vettori and J Syed Mohammad found the boundaries when they were needed, and got Bangalore home with three deliveries to spare.
It had looked like a cakewalk when Kohli was finding the boundaries at will in a breezy half-century that stunned Delhi. But David Warner provided the inspiration Delhi needed with a direct hit from the deep that ran out AB de Villiers. After Morne Morkel bowled Kohli two deliveries later, 65 needed from 66 deliveries quickly became 44 required from 30, and the Feroz Shah Kotla crowd started buzzing with the hope of a home victory.
But Syed flicked and steered Umesh Yadav for successive boundaries to bring the equation down to 12 required off two overs, and Bangalore didn't allow Delhi back again.

UN says shelling by goverment troops killed over 10,000 civilians - Rajapakse Regime Denies it
A UN panel has said widespread shelling by the Sri Lankan government killed most of the tens of thousands of civilians it says died during the final phase of the 26-year-long war, in 2009.
In a report on possible war crimes in the last months of the war, the panel also accuses Tamil rebels of using civilians as human shields. It is calling for an independent international investigation.
But Sri Lanka has rejected the report's finding as biased and fraudulent.
It denies that tens of thousands of civilians were killed in the months leading up to the government's victory over Tamil separatists in May 2009.
"The Sri Lankan army is not responsible and [the] Sri Lankan government is not responsible," government spokesman Lakshman Hulugalle told the BBC.
"We never shelled or we never bombed. We never targeted innocent civilians. It's a wrong allegation and we can prove it," he said.
The highly controversial document was the result of a 10-month process of gathering evidence by the three-member panel, which was not allowed into Sri Lanka.
Their report paints a brutal image of the final offensive on the rebel-held enclave in northern Sri Lanka between January and May 2009.
It said that hospitals, UN centres and ships belonging to international aid group the Red Cross were deliberately shelled by government forces.
It describes prisoners being shot in the head and women raped, while the Tamil Tiger rebels (LTTE) used 330,000 civilians as human shields, and shot those who tried to escape.
The UN experts said there were "credible allegations, which if proven, indicate that a wide range of serious violations of international humanitarian law and international rights law was committed both by the government of Sri Lanka and the LTTE, some of which would amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity".

Elections to the remaining local government bodies to be held in Mid June - Regime planning to use Ban Ki-moon's report against the Opposition as a weapon.
Rajapakse Regime is looking at holding elections to the remaining 101 local government bodies by mid June, an official from the Elections Department said. The regime postphoned several urban councils and municipal councils which are very strongholds of main oppostion UNP saying phostphoning was done due to World Cup. The rest were phostphoned by election commissioner due to court orders (as some parties went to courts regarding the rejection of their nominations lists).
A senior minister of the regime said that Rajapakse is making sure to get the maximum benifit of Ban Ki-moon's report by using it against the oppostion in rest of the local government bodies.
He further said that the President believed that the present situation in the country would help the UPFA win the municipal councils including the Colombo Municipal Council which are strongholds of UNP as mentioned earlier.

Delhi Commonwealth Games chief Suresh Kalmadi arrested
The chief organiser of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of corruption.
Suresh Kalmadi was removed from his post in January.
Police say he will be charged with conspiracy regarding the awarding of commercial contracts for the Games - he denies any wrongdoing. The build-up to the Games, held in the capital in October, was marred by allegations of sleaze and incompetence.
A spokesman for India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said Mr Kalmadi was arrested "for conspiracy to cause favour to a company in Switzerland while procuring timers and scoring equipment for the Games".
Other charges relate to contracts at a 2009 event in London which marked the start of a baton race across Commonwealth countries, say reports.
Mr Kalmadi is expected to appear in court on Tuesday. If found guilty he could face years in prison.

Anti Democratic Rajapakse's Regime Impose Further Tax on Imported Vehicles as Family Regime is strugling with funds to survive - Likely to impose more and more taxes in near future.
Regime has raised import duties on several categories of petrol engined cars and three wheelers with massive increase in larger hybrid vehicles which had exceptionally low taxes initially according to Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundara. On hybrid cars with engines below 2,000 cubic centimeters total duties will go up from 38 percent close to 50 percent. Then On petrol cars with standard engines with capacities below 1,000 cubic centimeters the effective total tax rate will go up from the current 95 percent to 120 percent.
Between 1000 to 1,600 cc the effective rate will go up from 119 to 128 percent. On three wheelers the effective rate will go up from 38 percent to 50 percent.
For the moment the total taxes on all petrol and diesel cars above 1600cc will remain unchanged.
It is learnt that tax increase was done due to IMF loan interests that has to be paid, huge expenditure on Rajapakse Family, huge expenditure on Ministers as well as Deputy Ministers, to cover up funds used and require in future to carry out election malpractices and also to pay some of the oppostion MP's who are supporting current oppostion leader to stay in that post to avoid any threat from UNP.

Warne leads Rajasthan to a easy win over Kochi - But many raise questions over quality of the pitch for batting ?
Rajasthan Royals 111 for 2 (Watson 49, Dravid 44) beat Kochi Tuskers Kerala 109 (Parthiv 32, Warne 3-16, Trivedi 3-19) by eight wickets.
Kochi were sent to bat first initially by Warne. Kochi looked good until the 3rd over where Laxman was run out. Then onward they lost their way with wickets tumblling at regular interwal. Parthiv patel and Jadeja tried their bast to rescue them but they too struggled later on.
Rajastan finished it off in 14.1 overs with good initial partnership of Watson and Dravid as they new the exact target to be achieved.
It was a pitch prepared with a low bounce in which stroke play looked very difficult which is not what expected in a 20-20 cricket. The IPL Management should take note of this as this was not the first time it was seen in this season. If this continues, the fan base of IPL will be heavily affected.

Rohit and Slingger Malinga destroys Deccan Chargers
Mumbai Indians 172 for 4 (Rohit 56*, Symonds 44*, Mishra 2-14) beat Deccan Chargers 135 for 8 (Sanga 34, Malinga 3-9) by 37 runs
Deccan Chargers had the chance to retain Rohit Sharma and Andrew Symonds, but let both of them go, and paid the price on Sunday. The pair came together with Mumbai wobbling at 70 for 4 in the 10th over, having lost three wickets for the addition of no run in six balls, and proceeded to pulverise their former side in a 102-run stand that came off just 65 balls. Mumbai followed up the pyrotechnics of their Deccan imports with a typically clinical show in the field, to surge to a four-point lead at the top of the IPL table.

A building in the Dictator Gaddafi's compound flattened to the ground with heavy well targetted NATO air strikes!
NATO forces flattened a building inside Muammar Gaddafi's Bab al Aziziyah compound early on Monday.
Firefighters were still working to extinguish flames in a part of the ruined building a few hours after the attack, when foreign journalists were brought to the scene in Tripoli.
The press official, who asked not to be identified, said 45 people were hurt in the strike, 15 of them seriously, and some were still missing. That could not be independently confirmed.
Gaddafi's compound has been struck before, but NATO forces appear to be stepping up the pace of strikes in Tripoli in recent days.
A target nearby, which the regime called a car park but which appeared to cover a bunker, was hit two days ago.
The United States, Britain and France say they will not stop their air campaign over Libya until Dictator Gaddafi leaves power.
Washington has taken a backseat role in the air war since turning over command to NATO at the end of March but is under pressure to do more. This week it sent Predator drone air crafts which fired for the first time on Saturday still their is no sign of Dictator Gaddafi stepping down.
