Mahela & Thilan was Engaged in Match Fixing ! - Accuses "Vimasuma" - ITN Post News Programme

"Vimasuma programmme " (on 27th) by Presidential Advisor Mahinda Abesundra (Script Writer )  accused both Mahela and Thilan for involving in match fixing which resulted in Sri Lanka loosing to Pakistan.

But the Sri Lankan cricket analysts says this is one of the biggest horrible thing to do & only a traitor could do such a thing. Also they were saying that this could affect the mentallity of the players to a greater extent while our players will have a risk of facing match fixing charges internationally.

Who is this Mahinda Abesundara ?

He was a very loyal person to then President Chandrika (CBK) and he did a post ITN News programme called as "Viparamma" where his job was to sling mud at UNP and it's leader Ranil Wickramasinghe during that time. When Percy Mahinda became president, he was offered the main editor's post in "Dinaminna" Goverment Sinhala Weekly news paper while he changed the name of Viparamma to Vimasumma and was continuing his mud sliging job against oppostion parties (but now against cricket heroes).

UNP UK Supporters Urge Ranil to leave like a gentlemen

The UNP party members residing in Britain, urged opposition leader Ranil Wickramasinghe to leave like a gentlemen without further destroying the party.

They further said that, though we are not well satisfied with the way the emerging young UNP leader from Hambanthotta is working, their is no other option other than him who can bring UNP to power.

Under Ranil Wickramasinghe, UNP had lost 2 Presidential Elections (99 to CBK, 2005 to MR), General Elections (2000, 2004, 2010), Several Provincial Councils & Local Goverments. A party which had over 45,000,000 votes not have lost over 15,000,000 of it

but he was able to make the economy stable & reduce Government debt while he was the Prime Minister from 2001-2003.

This is how the venom and vengeances of Rajapakses take toll –this is how Air Force chief Roshan Gunetileke is given ‘recognition - Lankaenews

According to informed sources within the Air Force, Air Force Commanding officer Air chief Marshall Roshan Gunatileke who faithfully and loyally commanded the Air Force in the 4th Eelam war victory has been scheduled for retirement today (28), just three days before the celebrations of the Air Force marking the completion of its 60 years in existence.

The former Army Commander Gen. Fonseka too was deprived of a similar opportunity by appointing him as the Chief of the defense staff at that time. Despite Gen. Fonseka making a request to allow him to continue in his Army Commander position until the celebrations were over was declined by the Defense Secretary Gotabaya
Rajapakse.

This time, it is a similar axing that has been performed against Roshan Gunatileke. While the 60 th anniversary celebrations is close at hand, appointing him as chief of defense staff and causing him to retire from the Air chief Marshall post (CDS) with this object of relegating him to a position which carries no powers. This is a position which is equivalent to a post of assistant to a Defense Secretary, and is sans any powers.

According to sources within the Air Force, there had been another area also where dispute has erupted with the Lokka. A request had been made to Gunetileke to send Air fighter pilots on the sly to a friendly foreign dictator Gaddafi who is now in deep trouble following a fierce people’s rebellion against him. As the foreign dictators’s pilots have defied his orders and have left for neighboring countries with the aircrafts, this dictator has made this request from Sri Lanka, his close friend. Gunetileke in keeping with his unwavering policies, integrity and rectitude has refused absolutely to accede to this request.

He had emphatically stated, ‘ I am responsible for the lives of my valuable pilots’. It were his overriding traits oh loyalty to the country, the integrity of his nature and concern for his ‘men’ that cost him this derogation and humiliation at the hands of the defense Ministry chief, denying him even his opportunity to participate at the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Air Force as the Air Force Commander.

Libyan security forces switch sides as Gadhafi hangs on - CNN

Embattled Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi seemed increasingly cornered Sunday as security forces defected to the opposition in a town near the capital and the United Nations Security Council voted for tough restrictions on and possible war crimes charges against the Libyan regime.

Former security forces said they had switched sides and joined the opposition in Zawiya, a town about 55 kilometers (35 miles) from the capital, Tripoli. Some buildings in Zawiya showed signs of damage, including a freshly burned-out police station.

CNN's Nic Robertson, on a government-organized trip to Zawiya, saw armed civilians taking defensive positions on rooftops to prepare for a possible effort by Gadhafi loyalists to retake the town.

About 2,000 people took part in an anti-government protest there, some standing atop tanks or holding anti-aircraft guns. They said they wanted the government overthrown, calling Gadhafi a "bloodsucker."

Later in the day, CNN witnessed two smaller pro-government rallies that had apparently been organized by government officials for international journalists to see, Robertson reported.

The opposition now controls several Libyan cities after weeks of protests inspired by demonstrations that toppled longtime leaders in neighboring Tunisia and Egypt.

Defiant Gaddafi confined to Tripoli

Libyan Dictator continues to blame foreigners and al-Qaeda for the unrest that is threatening his 41-year rule fearing that the end result will be similar to that if Egypt or Tunisia.

As more cities fall into the hands of the pro-democracy protesters, Muammar Gaddafi, the Libyan Dictator, is hanging on to the capital where security forces loyal to him seem to have a firm hold, even amid reports of sporadic gunfire.

On Sunday, protesters had taken control of the city of Zawiyah, 50km from Tripoli, further shrinking the control of Gaddafi's government after the opposition took over most of the eastern part of the country. However, tanks were surrounding Zawiyahand locals feared an imminent raid by pro-Gaddafi  forces. An AFP reporter arriving in Nalut,  24km west of Tripoli, found that Gaddafi's security forces had entirely disappeared from the streets.

"The towns of Rhibat, Kabaw, Jado, Rogban, Zentan, Yefren, Kekla, Gherien and Hawamed have also been free for days. In all these towns, Gaddafi's forces have gone and a revolutionary committee put in place,"  Shaban Abu Sitta, a lawyer and member of a local committee, said.

"We have placed ourselves under the authority of the interim government in Benghazi," he explained, referring to the opposition council formed by former justice minister Mustafa Abdel Jalil in the east of the country.

Most political analysis says that he might flee to a country where his fellow dictators are their like Hugoe Chavez, Percy Mahinda & Mugabe

United Nations Security Council also voted for tough restrictions on and possible war crimes charges against the Libyan Dictator for killing of unarmed protesters .

Epic encounter ends in thrilling tie - What A Match, Went Till the Last Ball !

India 338 (Tendulkar 120, Bresnan 5-48) tied with England 338 for 8 (Strauss 158, Bell 69, Zaheer 3-64)

On an evening that simply beggared belief, England tied with India in an incredible finale in Bangalore. Andrew Strauss was England's inspiration, producing an extraordinary 158 from 145 balls, the highest score by an English batsman in World Cup history, as England threatened the unthinkable, and set off in full pursuit of India's seemingly unobtainable total of 338 - a score that had been made possible by a brilliant 120 from Sachin Tendulkar.

Such was the clarity of Strauss's strokeplay and the passivity of India's attack, at 280 for 2 in the 43rd over, England were cruising towards an extraordinary triumph. However a late intervention, sparked by a reverse-swinging Zaheer Khan, left them clawing for breath as a silenced Chinnaswamy stadium rediscovered its roar, and when the requirement shot up beyond two runs a ball, there seemed no way back into the contest. However, a ballsy volley of sixes from England's lower order hauled them back from the brink, and with two runs needed from the final delivery of the match, Graeme Swann drilled Munaf Patel to cover to salvage a share of the spoils.
