Super Luxsurious limousines Imported to Sri Lanka

A limousine (or limo) is a very luxury vehicle sedan or saloon car, especially one with a lengthened wheelbase . Though this vehicle is very common in USA & other european countries, this is the first time that a limo will be in Sri Lanka.

The2 vehicles were imported by a private business firm and the limo's imported were of Prado & Chevrole in brands. (stretch Prado limousine arrived in Colombo last Wednesday, Chevrolet 300c stretch limo cleared customs on thursday ).

Limousines are the most expensive form of automobile ground transportation, limousines are culturally associated with extreme wealth and/or power. Actually it's like a mini house.

Organised Gang Attacks Opposition Rally at Punchi Borella

An organised gang likely to be government sponsered - attacked the protest rally organised by the United National Party (UNP) at Punchi Borella few hours ago


The thugs had attacked the protest rally brutally. Some of the vehicles too had been damaged in the attack.


The organised gang that attacked the protest rally had also forcefully taken Sirasa TV cameramens video camera too by brutally asulating him. Following the attack, the UNP organiser for Kotte, attorney at law Shiral Lakthialaka said that the country's opposition and activists of the civil society had been holding a very peaceful rally when it was attacked by an organised gang.

"We were exercising our democratic rights and engaged in Sathyakriya.for the release of General Sarath Fonseka who has been unfairly imprisoned. Government thugs attacked our peaceful rally and our leaders with sticks and stones and our rally was disrupted. We will not stop at this. We are not afraid of sticks and stones," said Shiral Lakthilaka.

Mubarak says he 'wants to go'

Egyptian president had told ABC News that he is "fed up" but fearful about the consequences if he resign immediately. A bloody confrontation has gripped central Cairo, pitting Mubarak loyalists against pro-democracy supporters [EPA] Hosni Mubarak, the Egyptian president, has said in an interview to America's ABC News that he is "fed up" and wants "to go" after 62 years in public service. However, he fears the consequences if he were to quit immediately, saying his resignation would bring chaos to Egypt. Protesters demanding an end to Mubarak's 30-year rule continue to clash with his supporters on the streets of Cairo. The uprising has been blamed on poverty, corruption and recession. "I am fed up. After 62 years in public service, I have had enough. I want to go," Mubarak said during Thursday's interview with ABC's Christiane Amanpour. Mubarak, 82, who remains inside his heavily guarded presidential palace in Cairo, also said he was troubled by the violence that erupted during the protests and that his government was not responsible for it. His government has struggled to regain control of an angry nation, inviting opponents to talks and apologising for Thursday's bloodshed in Cairo that left at least 13 people dead.

Cairo, Egypt (CNN) -- One week ago, angry, disenfranchised and energized Egyptians emerged from Friday prayers, took to the streets and chanted, "Freedom!"

"We want (Mubarak) to leave," said one 19-year-old man hours after the intense day of protests.

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is not gone, but his days are numbered. The leader agreed Tuesday to not seek re-election in September. He told ABC News Thursday he would like to step down right away, but cannot because he does not want to risk plunging his nation into chaos.

In the bloody blur of days since his announcement that he would not stand for re-election, regime foes and opponents have clashed repeatedly in Cairo's Tahrir Square, the center of anti-government demonstrations. Eight people have been killed and nearly 850 injured, according to the health ministry.

Sanath Jayasuriya coming to politics while still being a national team player

One time master blaster now had entered politics.Any one has the freedom to come to politics but the bad thing is that he had entered to politics while still playing for Sri Lanka National Team.So UPFA had brought politics to current cricket players too.Arjuna Ranathunga and Hashan Thilakarathne came to politics after saying good bye to cricket as they are real Gentleman's according to myself.

He is an outstanding attacking batsman and a good part time spinner who had served the country at many a times without any dought but last 3-4 years he represented national team thanks to the head of Sri Lanka (as Sanath is still his favorite).Many youngsters couldn't get an opportunity as he had being occupying the national team opening batting slot for last few years even without any good batting performance.Cricket is a sport that can make you get lot of dollars in legal way to hand while politics is another way that it helps to get dollars or rupees in legal as well as other way. So all can understand very well what is he up to?(but I hope he will do better for country too like in 1996 worldcup if gets elected!).

Also according to some sources,Current SL Vice Captain Miralitharan is to contest Nuwara Eliya District from UPFA.Some says that these are candidates fielded in UPFA under the support of "Nil Balakaya"(Blue Brigade) of Namal Rajapakse who too contest from Habbanthota but some says Murali was brought to contest by S B Dissanayake. If Sanath wins,he will win with a large number of votes but if he loose,it will by a large margin.Still can't say anything about Murali.

Finally what I have to say is that, it is really bad to bring politcs to national cricket team.Also cricket fans will too get politicized as a result and it will lead to the rapid (as it is already happening to some level)downfall of cricket in Sri Lanka.

Massive Protest by JVP Demanding the release of abducted General Sarath Fonseka while Satyagraha from UNP Kotte Organizer

A massive protest was organized by the JVP was held in Colombo on 16th demanding the government to release General Sarath Fonseka who was abducted (illegally arrested) and is being detained without any charges at Nevy Headquarters.JVP Leader Somanwansha Amarasinghe,Anura Dissanayake and Lal Kanthe addressed the massive protest.This was the only rally (so far held) which was not attacked by either police or government thugs(may be regarding the massive number of protesters!)

Also their had being a Sathyagra in Kotte for the second day organized by UNP Kotte (New)Organizer Shiral Lakthilake.Wife of General Sarath Fonseka (Anoma Fonseka) too participated. She said that General Fonseka is not kept in a Luxurious place as some says and also said that the windows of the flat in which General is detained is closed by planks.She also said that if they hope that they can mentally depress and weaken her husband,they are sadly mistaken.

Ranil Wickramasinghe a clean politician but the weakest party leader in Sri Lanka

In Sri Lanka,a political party leader should have a strong backbone when taking decisions but we don't see it from him since 1994.His party which is the biggest party in Sri Lanka had being now in opposition for nearly 14 years since then.So many party stalwarts had crossed over to government as most of them had understood that under Mr.Ranil Wickramasinghe's leadership, they cannot come in to power (most of the cross overs may not be clean but cannot help under the way Sri Lankan politics is done).

He had appointed as well as favor only politicians who are not a threat to him as well as most organizers are weak political wise in their respective areas.His deputy too is a weak character (who crossed over to the government and then came back!).He does not take any advice from politicians who are well favored and/or respected by common people.

A political party should have politicians who can talk well for the masses at various situations,but now UNP has only very few like that as most had crossed over.Dayasiri Jayasekara,Sajith Premadasa,Buddika Pathirana (Recently emerged) and Ranjan Ramanayake (Recently emerged) and few more.So who knows what will happen for some of them after upcoming General Election?.

Also if he had managed to hold power some how in 2003 current situation wouldn't have occured.Also he had a chance to take power in 2004 election too as UPFA had only 105(+1 EPDP) seats which was a minority and if he had taken the support of JHU.Now the UNP voter base had got eroded to a vast level which is at a situation where recovery is some what very difficult.

UNP had won only 2 elections since 1994,So continuous loosing of UNP is not something for us to wonder..! It will continue as long as he is the leader....!

Considering the recently held Presidential Election Results (if results are true!) the Government Coalition will have a majority in Parliament.The following is the predicted results after analyzing 2010 Presidential Election together with 2001 and 2004 General Elections.

A war hero, now disabled had being abducted, tortured to force him to sign a letter against General

The disabled war hero, Mr.J. Asoka Kumara of Kusume Gedera who disappeared while serving in General Sarath Fonseka’s Presidential Election Office at Rajakeeya Mawatha in Colombo on the 11th had been dumped on the road after being brutally beaten up.He was faound near Colombo Town Hall on 13th.He was badly injured and had being admitted to Ward No.7 at

Ragama Teaching Hospital according to news sources.

Mr.J Asoka Kumara ( Resident of Ragama) was a former Sergent who got injured while taking part in Jaya Sikuru Operation in 1995 and then had retired on medical grounds as he had being disabled.

He had been forced to sign a letter against General Sarath Fonseka,Once he had being abducted by an unidentified group of people.The letter content the following details and had being told to sign stating they were true.

1.General Sarath Fonseka gave him a firearm.

2.Gen. Sarath Fonseka and Parliamentarian Arjuna Ranatunga had an illicit affair with popular teledrama actress Upeksha Swarnamalee (Paba).

3.That Gen. Fonska had told him that his wife should have an illicit affair with Gen.

Fonseka to get his pension.

When he refused to sign for the first time,they had offered cash which he had refused.Then second time the abductors had cut the disabled war hero’s hair and had plucked hair in the eye brows using various tools.Then they had brutally asulted him asking to sign the letter which was unsuccessfull and later abductors had dumped him on the road near Town Hall

Mr. Kumara has told that he had never seen his abductors before and he couldn’t see where he was being tortured as his eyes were covered when he was taken there.When General Sarath Fonseka contested the presidential election this disabled war hero contributed his service to the General for about 1 and 1/2 months in General’s office.
